Exciting times as the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games come to an end and the ‘torch is passed’ to us here on the Gold Coast! From the 4-15 of April 2018 the Gold Coast will play host to the 2018 Commonwealth Games. It’s the first time that the Gold Coast has housed the games but the fifth time for Australia, with the games previously in Sydney (1938), Perth (1962), Brisbane (1982) and Melbourne (2006).
Sports on the games program for 2018 include Aquatics (swimming and diving), Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling … and much, much more … staged at venues across the Gold Coast. 80% of the venues are within 20 minutes drive of the Games Village, which will be built at Parklands.
